Back in 2020 I had time to kill during the covid pandemic, so I decided to create a website to share my science and life interests.
I grew up in Florida and went to Florida State for my undergraduate studies. There, I studied biology with a focus in molecular biology and biochemistry. I started my research career at FSU under the direction of immunology professor Kenneth Roux. His work was groundbreaking in elucidating the distribution and three-dimensional structure of AIDS virus envelope spikes (gp120 and gp41). While I was in his lab my work was on the evolution of the RAG1 and RAG2 genes and their involvement in the V(D)J recombination system.
